Are you SEO ready for 2020?

Technological development is fast and this also applies to a large extent within search engines. Google makes thousands of updates every single year and many of them have a huge impact on the opportunities and limitations it provides. If you do not stay up to date, if you stick to old strategies or take advantage of the many new opportunities that constantly arise, you will slowly lose visibility and customers in your market! Are you ready for SEO in 2020? Are you sure your website meets the technical requirements Google has today, are your texts and links well optimized, and are you sure that you are taking advantage of all the opportunities for effective optimization that exist today?

We will take a closer look at this in this post.

Technical SEO is becoming even more important

It has always been important to have a technically a well-functioning website that meets the requirements of both visitors and Google. But in recent years, technical SEO has become far more complicated and the consequences of not having control over it much more serious.

We are very confident that this development will continue in 2020! One can - a little simplified, divide technical SEO into "limitations" and "opportunities". The limitations are about understanding the many technical requirements that exist for Google to understand your website in the right way. In addition to the obvious requirements for mobile-friendliness and speed, there are today a lot of requirements and limitations in relation to e.g. what data Google requires to see, structures, formats, and how data is printed.  At this point, unfortunately, documentation from Google is scarce - and to make matters worse, much of the information they provide or that you can find around the web is not always entirely accurate. For example. In their official announcements, Google is just as legally optimistic about how "perfect" they handle JavaScript, Duplicate Content, and error pages. Our unconditional experience is that you get significantly better results if you have control over these things yourself instead of leaving it to Google's filters! Opportunities, as opposed to restrictions, are about the many technical possibilities that exist today to strengthen your visibility in Google, but as such, there is no requirement that you must support. Many people are not at all aware of all the technical options available today to enhance your SEO services in Lahore and visibility in Google. But just that can be your big advantage! Because if you know them, and take advantage of them, it can give you an extra boost over your competitors.

Content Optimization, Panda, Hummingbird, and Bert

As with technical SEO, content optimization has always been important - both to optimize your conversion and visibility in Google. And here too, a lot has happened - and still happens a lot! A development that will undoubtedly continue in 2020. In the old days, content optimization was just about repeating your keywords a lot of times on targeted pages. Today it is far more complex. Today, you can work with many more types of content and each one must be optimized in its own special way, in order to work in relation to your customers and Google. Google has generally become much better at understanding languages. And they have become better at filtering out bad content that they do not think benefits their search users. This journey started with the Panda updates, almost a number of years ago. It went hard on me .a. websites with autogenerated content, advertising-heavy pages, and pages with thin or duplicate content. With Hummingbird, Google got completely new possibilities for "natural language" search - the ability to understand many more nuances of the language. And most recently with Bert, they have lifted it to new heights with a more detailed understanding of the small nuances and words in sentences that can be crucial to meaning.

So instead of matching words and characters, Google now more closely matches intentions, events, and entities (from strings to things). It is not certain that your website directly suffers from bad texts today, but unless you know a lot about all these content-related SEO factors, it is almost certain that you will achieve a significantly better visibility by optimizing them.

Link building is harder than ever before

Links are still a crucial factor in ranking well in Google. Dot! And there is absolutely nothing to suggest that will change in 2020. Links will continue to play a huge role. The question then is just how to get the links that will give your website the authority it needs. And it changes all the time. It has definitely gotten harder. Today, getting the right links requires a much more broad-spectrum effort. Some can still be bought, some you can get involved in, but others can - and should be obtained through creative "Earned Links" campaigns. Have you made a plan for your link building activities in 2020?

If not, or if you are not quite sure it is strong enough, then I would highly recommend that you get started right away. The probability that your competitors already have started is very high.
