Can one get a strong website, killer content and effective SEO for just a few thousand a month?
I have been working as an SEO consultant for over 20
years. For the first many years, I mostly work with a slightly larger
company, most of them with large complex websites and ditto
organizations.
Doing SEO for that type of customer can often run-up to
tens of thousands of dollars each month - and it has, in step with increasing
and more complex demands from both Google and users, certainly not become cheaper. Even
smaller companies often end up spending many thousands of dollars on getting
proper SEO services advice - so that their website can be optimally optimized, in
addition to the costs of developing, correcting, maintaining, and writing the
content on their website - not to mention the ongoing link building that
is necessary for most people who want visible results. Proper link the building alone can rarely be done for less than DKK 2-3,000 per
link. month. So how can some be so naive as to think that you can get
both a strong website, hosting, texts that sell, SEO and ongoing link building
for as little as just a few thousand kroner per. month? I can. We
can, here at Profseoservices. Admittedly, it was perhaps a little naive -
at least optimistically thought, when almost 3 years ago we set out to create a
platform and a service that could do just that - deliver both websites,
converting texts, SEO, and ongoing link building to a fraction of what most
others otherwise end up having to pay.
SEO is resilience by
the meter
One of the big challenges with SEO - when you have to buy
it has always been that in many ways it is "elastic in
meters". There are no formal or regulatory specifications of what
“SEO” is.
If you buy a car, I'm sure that consumer protection will
ensure that you at least get a metal box you can sit in, four wheels and an
engine - a vehicle that can legally transport people around.
The same cannot be said about SEO. I have seen many
sad examples of people buying SEO, which in practice can be compared to a
shoebox without a motor and wheels. Yes, on the surface it might look like
SEO (e.g. because there were search engine friendly URLs and the ability to
edit TITLEs), but that just is NOT enough. You do not get far in the shoebox -
or "SEO" that does not include a little more of the things that
actually, get your business to the top of Google on keywords that give new
customers.
I can well understand that many people feel cheated when
they have bought SEO or a website where the provider claims SEO is included,
and then experience that it provides almost no valuable visibility in
Google. Unfortunately, I do not have a universal solution to that problem
- other than what I and we here at Profseoservices are constantly trying to do
- educate you, and teach you more about what SEO should actually contain in
order to work.
SEO is not Rocket
Science!
When I started messing with SEO many years ago, none of
us knew exactly what was going on. We fumbled a bit blindly, experimented
a lot, and eventually came up with useful results.
That is not the case today. We know what needs to be
done. We all know the most important factors for how Google indexes in the
rankings website - which buttons to press, so to speak.
The same can be said about conversion
optimization. After many years of internet, we know what it takes - both
technically and editorially, to convince those who visit your website that you
are worth trading with.
A strong platform is
the first step
There are plenty of good CMS (web publishing platforms)
today, but none of them can fully live up to the requirements if it is to be
seriously visible in Google.
We chose to build our solution on the world's most widely
used CMS - WordPress. But on top of this system, we have made a myriad of
adjustments, improvements, optimizations, and extensions that make our solution
much stronger - purely SEO-technical, than a standard WordPress solution.
With a strong technical platform - that meets all the
requirements of Google and your customers, you have the best starting point for
achieving high visibility in Google.
Achieving visibility
and sales requires good content
Before writing the texts, you need to have a good
understanding of how people are actually searching This is what we call
"keyword research". It requires both access to the right tools
and a whole lot of knowledge and experience to do that kind of research
properly. Once you know how your target audience is searching, the texts
should be written. But not only that - they need to be set up in the
formats, elements and page types that both benefit conversions and visibility
in Google as best as possible. The fact is that almost no business - whether
small or large, has the necessary knowledge about conversion optimization and
Google content optimization needed to create the desired results.
So to deliver a - even quite strong, technical platform
and then just bet on you can write this content yourself is in practice
completely unrealistic. At Profseoservices, we have hired and trained skilled,
professional copywriters who, as an integral part of our service, write,
maintain, and optimize your texts. Then you can be sure that they work -
that they rank well in Google and that those who visit the pages are more
convinced that you could be the right provider.
Links are a crucial SEO
factor
Even with a really strong platform like Profseoservices
Business and some well-optimized texts, you rarely get the visibility in Google
you deserve, unless there are also some other websites that link to you. Without
links - or with a few links of the right type and quality, Google perceives
your website as a little indifferent. And then you do not show up on the
desired keywords. With Profseoservices Business, we ensure that new links
to your website are created on an ongoing basis - month after month. This
means that your authority in Google will quietly increase and that - together with
the strong technical platform and the good texts, works!
Systematic handling
results in lower prices
It's not the first time in world history that
entrepreneurs like us - here at Profseoservices, have reinvented the deep dish,
made it better, and much cheaper. IKEA did not invent the kitchen. Before
them, you could call a carpenter who would build it for you. It can be standing. It's just skin expensive, to put it bluntly. In IKEA you
can get a really nice kitchen for a fraction of the price that a handmade joinery
kitchen costs.
Some will so surely claim that a joinery kitchen is far
better. And yes, you can easily argue for that - and there are certainly
also situations, special houses, or wishes that can only be fulfilled that
way. But the vast majority of us can actually
easily "manage" ourselves with an IKEA kitchen - we get a delicious,
functional kitchen at a very attractive price.
Our approach to a unified web solution - that works, is
actually not that much different than IKEAs are for kitchens. We have taken
all the knowledge we have about what we - through many years of practical
experience, know works and then systematized the production of it in a way that
allows us to sell it - as a total solution, too far below what it would cost if
we as hourly paid consultants, who make it a unique solution to each
client.
What is the weakness of
Profseoservices Business?
Now you might be thinking that there must be
a downside to the low price. Because when it can cost tens of thousands of
kroner to build a good website, write good texts, SEO advice, and thousands of
kroner every month in link building, a Profseoservices A business solution that costs so little impossible can be just as good. But
yes, it actually can. And I would argue that our solution is in many ways
much better than the “unique” solutions you can otherwise buy. There is actually
only one "weakness" in a solution like Profseoservices Business -
which (again) is a bit like the IKEA kitchen. You may not necessarily get
all the details quite as you ideally could wish for. If you want a
different size of the cabinets than they have, then you can not use
IKEA. Similarly, you can not ask to have a mass-produced car delivered 25
cm longer. Standardized - systematized, products have the formats that
offer. That is the limitation. In return, the dirt is proven, you
know what you are getting and it works. I actually think that's a pretty
good deal.
