SEO: Duplicate Content is Still a Problem!

Image
Google is getting better and better at filtering out the things that do not benefit their search users and the quality of its index. This also applies to Duplicate Content. But does that mean you no longer have to worry about Duplicate Content? The short answer is a resounding no! In fact, Duplicate Content - precisely because of Google's more effective filtering - is an even bigger problem than ever before.  In this post, we are going to take a closer look at why Duplicate Content is such a serious SEO issue, where it often occurs and what you can do about it. Why is Duplicate Content a problem? Basically, it does not make sense for Google to store the same - or virtually the same, information multiple times in their index. It's just a waste of space. And maybe even worse - it can lead to poorer search results. When you do a search, Google wants to show you a selection of different results. If e.g. a product, with the same descr...

SEO requires detailed technical care

Image
Care and attention to detail generally make sense - not just in terms of SEO. But especially when it comes to technical SEO, extreme care on all of them - eventually many, technical details are extremely important. Even very small mistakes can have catastrophic consequences for your visibility in Google - and if you forget to implement the latest standards, you will miss out on the extra boost it can provide.  The challenge is so "just" that today there are really many technical SEO conditions. You probably know some of them - but are you sure you know them all? Do you know what the latest standards are and to what extent they must be met? In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the technical SEO requirements that you should ask yourself and your developers. If you are in doubt about any of it or want help with this - a little difficult part of SEO, then we are of course very happy to help.  The first step is proper indexability...

what are the most significant SEO Ranking Factors in 2020.

Image
I have also invited myself and of course, participated with my experience. The study builds on the studies he previously did when he was at Moz and is, as always, an exciting solution. But as always, of course, one should read that kind of thing with a pinch of salt and in this post, I will spice up the results of the survey with a few of my own, completely unreserved opinions.  Positioning variables rely upon the sort of search I can state with satisfaction that an overwhelming majority of the survey respondents believe that Google's Ranking Factors are dynamic and thus not necessarily the same on all searches. This is also why broad surveys of SEO services in Pakistan Ranking Factors will never be completely accurate for all kinds of searches. And that's also what makes it so that in some markets you can experience that all top 10 results are something “spammy crap” - to put it bluntly, and similar searches in other markets are characterized by a hero's ot...

Site improvement isn't dead - in fact!

Image
At regular intervals, SEO is declared dead. Typically, the argument has been that Google has now become too smart to influence the search results, that they do everything they can to keep the users themselves, that the competition is too high, or that everyone eventually just clicks on the ads - forward for the organic results. The truth is, though, that SEO is by no means dead. On the contrary. A major study from June this year clearly documents that the value of SEO is still very high. In this post, I will take a closer look at the study of why SEO is certainly not dead - and why it probably never happens.  The vast majority click on the natural outcomes Let me start with one of the survey's perhaps most startling results. For every one click on a Google Ads ad, an organic result is clicked 11.6 times! So despite the fact that the ads are definitely filling up more and more in Google, many (thankfully) still choose to click on the organic resul...

New SEO trend: Splitting of portal domains

Image
It is almost many years ago that I first foresaw the death of the wide portals. “All-purpose portals” such as Wikipedia, eHow, Jubii and Scandinavia Online in Denmark and one of the most successful international portals About.com have all since had to true this. When the first Google Panda update rolled out in 2011, it became a serious step in the right direction and a serious wake-up call for these portals. Many of them subsequently experienced very severe declines in organic search engine traffic and very almost none of them initially found solutions to their challenges. But now something new has happened. About.com rebranded to DotDash.com in 2016 and has since embarked on a series of notable domain splits. And even more remarkable is to see the results. They are, to put it mildly, storming forward in Google. In this post, I will take a closer look at the background to such a split, the results it has given About.com, and whether it is possibly somet...

SEO and Data Driven News

Image
Links have been one of the most important elements of SEO for many years. It still is. But links are not just "a voice on your website". It has become a much more nuanced signal, which Google I .a. user in their new EAT ratings. But what is EAT rating, how does Google interprets link signals and authority today, and why are data-driven news stories one of the best methods you can work with today to create better and more stable results? And how do you do that? All that I will take a closer look at in this post. What is Google EAT? EAT is an abbreviation for Expertise, Authority, and Trust - three factors that Google has increased its focus on in the last few years. Through a very large team of external Quality Raters, Google continuously evaluates worldwide websites and search results based on the EAT parameters and use it to improve its search algorithms. The consequences of this we saw me .a. in 2018 when many Danish websites in the health...

How to Create an SEO Analysis Value

Image
An SEO Analysis is a thorough review of your website where all the factors that matter to visibility in Google are examined . Maybe you have had an SEO analysis is done before. But how much did you get out of it? How much more visible in Google did you become? Unfortunately, many people find that an SEO Analysis does not really lead to clear improvements - more and better rankings in Google, more visits, and conversions (eg leads or sales). In this post, I will show you how an SEO Analysis CAN actually create value. Very value! More visibility and more sales. My experience is that a good SEO Analysis, combined with the right prioritization and follow-up, is one of the best and most effective tools when you want to optimize your website in the search engines… The SEO analysis (more than) doubled the visibility! One of the many good examples of how effective an SEO Analysis can be is SOS Children's Villages. They had been struggling for a while to become...
